ABOUT CLUEROLL
A word game
with another side.
ClueRoll pairs two kinds of thinking: finding the word that fits a clue, and finding the route that brings a cube’s right letter to the answer.
The clue gets you started
The daily game uses English word clues in four forms: common links, double definitions, missing links, and analogies. You do not type an answer into a box. Instead, you roll six-faced letter cubes across a board to spell it.
The route makes it a puzzle
A roll changes which face is on top. The board, entrances, other cubes, and locked letters all matter. You can inspect every cube’s faces, use hints, and undo a move while working out a route.
Your week has a bigger goal
Complete a daily puzzle to collect its four preassigned letter fragments. Those fragments belong to that day’s week and help you build a separate weekly phrase.
Play in your browser
ClueRoll supports mouse, keyboard, and on-screen touch controls. Game progress is saved locally in this browser when storage is available; it is not an account-based cross-device backup. The interactive lesson is separate and never changes your daily progress.
Why words and cubes?
The idea behind ClueRoll is that knowing the answer can be the beginning of a puzzle, not its end. Word clues offer the discovery; visible cube faces and routes give you a second challenge to work through at your own pace.
Behind ClueRoll
ClueRoll is maintained as a browser-based puzzle project. Feedback about clues, accessibility, and technical problems helps guide improvements. You can reach the person maintaining the site through the Contact page, which includes a direct email address.
